I've got a Camp 9 with Marlin 12 round mags. It would be nice to have a pistol that not only shots 9mm but also takes the same mags. Would any S&W 6900 series that takes a 12 round mag be able to use the Marlin mags or is the comptibality a one way street? Any specific suggestions?

From the FAQs I find that the 59s come in 15 and 17 round while the 69s are 10 or 12. A 17 will stick out the bottom of a Camp but a 12 round Marlin mag won't reach the all the way into the mag well of a 17 round gun.

Get a 69 series if you want all of your mags to interchange. Read dale331's post above. Like he said the 12 round and smaller magazines of the Camp 9 won't fit the 59 series, too short. To answer your original question, yes the mags are completely interchangeable between the camp and the 6900 series.

Right now I have 5 mags for the Camp with flat floor plates. The mags are a little difficult to remove. I was thinking one of those pinky extensions might work nice.
Anyone know if a S&W floor plate will fit a Marlin mag?
I did come across a 6906 in a local gun shop and it fit my hand real nice. I'm just not ready to spend that much money now.

Picked up a S&W 6906 from Police Products Corp on GunAuction. Real nice gun, especially when it comes with a good holster and mag pouch. It's nice having a rifle and handgun not only in same caliber but with the same magazine. One less thing to worry about.

If anyone is looking for a 6906 give them a call and ask for Greg. They have more. They're located in North Jersey so if you're near you can just go there.

Yes, the finger extensions from the S&W do fit on the Marlin 12 round mags.

Do some of these magazines effect the slide action

I tried one out with the S&W 10 round magazine and the slide wouldn't release unless the magazine was out of It. The magazine releases just fine though. Is
there anyone that can tell me what's going on with that?
