contemplating a 357 lever action in the future. First, I am making sure I can get reloading support supplies. Who makes the best brass for this selection. I don’t shoot max. I am assuming that Remington is near the top. If so, I could purchase cheap 125 gr or 158 gr rem ammo and have the brass as a byproduct. I used to shoot 44 mag and used Hornady, Winchester, Remington all without issues but that brass was all purchased in the 70s. Reloaded over 10x. comments?

I and my family shoot a lot of 357MAG, and to keep my reloads consistent, I bought up a lot of Starline brass. Hard to beat their brass. So much so that I have gone with Starline brass for all my reloads.

Starline, Winchester, Remington, Federal, Hornady All work good. For my 44 Mag hunting and hotter loads it is - others are for light loads. No real reason just how it is.

My 357 is whatever I have. No real problems with any make. For some reason Nickel plated seems to have a higher split rate. Now in my 45 ACP I have Nickel that has worn off after a unknown number of loadings.

I used Hornady 25-35 to form my 219 Zipper. I only lost in forming and that was due to operator error.

I have a lot of "used" brass for everything I load for, but for .357 mag, .44 mag and 30-30 Win I use Starline brass for the hotter loads. I think I still have a couple hundred each left of new, unused, Starline brass for .44 mag and 30-30 Win for the hotter loads, but since I mainly shoot cast bullets in everything at "moderate" loads I'm not partial to any headstamps ... as long as it's still in decent condition.
