That's some pretty nice wood on that "plain jane" 1895, clarkfork. 8)

shootrj2003, could you tell me about that ammo, one of those bullets looks odd. It could be my eyes, but it looks like one has a lead bullet with a copper nose. :?:

 

This is my baby. Shorted guide gun. 16" barrel 33 1/4" total length

 

There. this one worked.

 

Stubby little critter-getter! I like it. Almost shortened the barrel on my GG to create something like that but decided I wanted more barrel, not less, so I traded for a 22" 1895 Marlin. Marlins are great lever guns!

Heres a couple of my favorites.The Cowboy and Armsport sharps replica. Anyone else have an Armsport. Been a great shooter.

And two others, 94 winnie my great grandpappy left me and the trusty coach gun.

I see that we are in full agreement on what to use for Elk. Actually I use this same setup for all of my big game hunting. This year I almost nailed my Elk with the 44Mag........damn, maybe next year.

Hey Leverdude that's a fine looking family. What is that winchester out front? It has some beautiful wood.

 

I can never resist a chance to show off my baby ! ! !

 

I managed to sneak off in the middle of the week and play at my range yesterday. As you can see, it was a lever action kind of day. My Guide Gun always stands in the front.

 

Terrill, I like the synthetic stock on the middle marlin! Who makes them, and do they make one for the GG?

 

It is the one and only prototype for a carbon fiber/fiberglass stock by Wild Dog out of Australia. I really don't know what production plans they may have at this time. It holds an additional eight rounds in the buttstock. If I find out anything, I'll let you know.
