After my getting this gift from my Buddy Don on our gift hunt, my Son in Law and I will try this Bourbon tonight. Mine will be neat to try and get the the full body reminiscent of a fine port, which I love.

Enjoy yourselves tonight fellas, but call an Uber or taxi home if you're driving.

Oh my word! I see guns, tomahawk, and spears in the background. All while you are watching a violent movie praising war. And you are drinking? No, no, no! We can't have this! This is just too misogynistic!

The word whiskey comes from a galeic word Uisge Beath or water of life. I enjoy, as does my wife, a drop of whiskey at the end of the day. Sometimes maybe more. It is nice to sit back and have a sip and discuss the day or the coming day. I believe it makes us closer. By the way...we have been married for over 50 years. We don't shoot and drink. If you do not like alcohol...fine,but don't come down on me for enjoying an evening drop of the pure.

I also enjoy Buffalo Trace. I used to be able to get every where here, now I have a hard time. I got a little left. I have been sipping on Clyde Mays. It’s very tasty and easy to get in my area View attachment 917810

This was a Christmas present from the wife, not my favorite, but it does the job.
Meant to stop on the way home and get a fresh bottle of trace.

Knob Creek 9, 12, or 15 yr are substantially better IMO

ps. Tullamore Dew 14, & 15 (my favorite) are both outstanding as well if you like Irish Whiskey. So is the 18, but it's not worth the extra $$$ IMO.

My daughter brought me some Whistlepig. Not really into rye…. But I’ll tell you it’s nice and smooth! glad she got it for me. View attachment 918355
Just had to look with the word "Whistlepig" in it. But the log is actually a pig. That was a term we used in PA for a Groundhog or Woodchuck, because you could get them to stand up with a whistle. The idea of a spirit named after a groundhog seemed "interesting" to say the least.

That is a #9, I'd hope the 12 and 15 would be better.

I'll keep an eye out for it.
By the way, that's the GG-son's first name. ;)

That’s exactly why I posted it. I knew it was his name too. You likely won’t find it in any store in your neck of the woods, but you can order a bottle directly from the Legend Distilling website, or if they won’t ship to you, pm me and I’ll get a bottle to you.

That story reminds me of a beer. I drank one time it was called barking squirrel, and then I proceeded to drink a blithering idiot…. lol needless to say I was hammered that night no firearms where involved
