Your Dream Marlin 336?

What if Marlington allowed you to pick styles, wood, barrel lengths, and caliber for your 336? What would your dream 336 look like?

I'd want a 30TK with stainless steel and figured walnut. No checkering. 30-30, 18.5" barrel, half-mag, straight grip texan with the square lever. What a rifle.

My dream 336 is my 338 MX. Can't get much better than that!

It's a kick-a$$ cartridge in just the right size 336 package.

It's just a shame they don't come in a straight-stocked 18.5" ported barrel. ;D It is purty tho..

Halwg,

I would have to agree! If I ever buy a new Marlin, my choice would be exactly like the one you showed here. ;)
I love the traditional walnut and blue, pistol grip (on a higher caliber), and the short tube magazine. Reminds me of the older 336A and 336sc rifles. This choice could handle what I hunt the most, -----deer and elk. That is a big selling point for me.

That one sounds good to me!
The 336 GBL is pretty much my ideal 336, I would however go with a much thinner forearm.
Oh, anybody that doesn't dream about rifles and hunting just ain't right. ;D

That 100 year custom marlin is a bit too much engraving in both the rifle and stock for my taste but we all have our own - that's what makes cars and guns so much fun!

I would like something like my stainless 336SS .30-30 with a plain pistol grip stock and plain forearm but with highly figured walnut like you see in the really high price rifles. Just highly polished smooth lines with no checkering to take away from the beauty of the wood. Check out these gun stock blanks of American Walnut - - I can only dream of getting some wood like these - - - -

Mine would look just like this.

Smooth straight stock, 24" octagonal barrel, with saddle ring. Caliber 38-55... Luckily I already own it. It don't get no better.

This is a good post. I think mine would be a 336 with a 24" octagon barrel, a large loop, a saddle ring, high grade walnut non-checkered PG stock (no cap) and forearm with fiddleback, waffle top, and in .35 Remington. I would also like the old S&W deep bluing with case hardened receiver and lever.

They wouldn't listen to me so I made my own, twice :)
The perfect 336RC,

The perfect 336 SCSG (sporting carbine straight grip ;D)

Made the perfect 444 too.

I'd like a 336 with an 18" barrel in 7x30 waters.
Since we're dream'n... a 22in octagon barreled cowboy in .35Rem w/Marbles peep sights :p
High grade walnut stock & forend with tasteful checkering, pistol-grip stock with shotgun butt and hard rubber buttpad. Forend cap and 22" slim taper barrel with bead front sight and flat-top rear sight. Blued metal with casehardened receiver and lever. Caliber is .25-35 with 1-14 twist.

:D

my ltd-V is hard to beat, but i wouldn't mind a 444 with 20" barrel full length mag tube and straight stock, blued and walnut.
