Forgive me if I am posting in the wrong section, I couldn't find a pistol section. I briefly posted photos of this during my introduction but I feel that isn't the proper place to ask for more info. This pistol appears in rough shape. Everything seems to function properly. I was wondering what you fine folks knew about it. It looks to be a 7 shot revolver of a small bore and measures only 7" in total length. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

They made them c.1873-1887 in 22 long, in both oct. and round barrels. yours is the most common rd. with fluted cyl., unfluted and or oct, barrel worth more. There are no factory records for them

Thank you very much. Happy to have it in my collection. Should I clean and oil the workings, and do you think with proper powder ammunition and being expertly looked at it may be safe to fire again?

It looks pretty good shape, I would clean it inside and have it checked if you intend to fire it. That said, it's a blackpowder gun and should only use low pressure like BB or CB caps
