XS7-308-mannlicher project...

I have a xls-308... its a tackdriver, on a good day, (for me and the rifle) its a half-incher.. I dream of having a nice full walnut, Mannlicher style stock made for it, I can't find anyone who makes one. Boyds don't have them... any suggestions?? Bob

Bob I belive You Will Have to make One Out Of a blank . Good luck it will be lots and Lots of very hard work . DD

Just be aware, you'll probably ruin the accuracy sticking it in a full length stock. It is a very rare Mannlicher that shoots under 1".

Hello, Bob. It is my dream too to own a Mannlicher-stocked X7. If you manage to get a stock for your XS7, please let me know where it came from and how much it cost you.

It turns out that Richards will make a Mannlicher stock for the X7!

Now for the question: Are their stocks any good, do they fit well or do they require a lot of work? And what is a good oil to use to finish a stock?

Oh, and I almost forgot: Will anyone lend me about $250?

Some of their stuff is press fit 99% inlet, and some is only 96% inlet. You will have to ask. If you want my honest opinion, Richards is the best around if you're looking for some extremely high grade types of wood.

Thanks for the opinion. I'd already made inquiries on the USA Rifle Shooters forum, and some people swear by them, while others think they aren't any good. Supposedly they've improved their quality a lot recently.

And if you get the very first one you can :" Have them put a big 1 on the stock, sell it on Ebay and have plenty of money left over for other stuff"
