I was at Gander today looking for options on my 336 because I need a longer length of pull. I asked the guy to show me the XLR to see how it fit on me. The pad looked like someone took out a pocket knife and started to whittle it down to fit. It had cut/ shave marks all over it like you were trying to cut the bark off a branch or something. Is this normal? Is this some of the QUALITY from Remlin y'all have been talking about? My uncle wanted one of those guns but I don't think he would spend the money on something that looked that cheesey.

My 1895 XLR 45/70 recoil pad is very well fitted. It was made in 2008 so I guess they did a better job back then. From what I've heard about the new guns, what you describe is not surprising.
