can i shoot any type of 357ammo in my marlin.i shoot 125gr jhp with 6 gr win231 in my model 19
in the winchester reloading manual there is no rifle data for 375. i know it is a hand gun and rifle cartridge. therefor can i safely fire any reloaded hand gun load in my 1894.
i know i am asking alot of questions but i just got the gun and there is so much to learn.
i dont intend to fire wadcutters or really low power loads in the rifle
thanks

Any .357 load published in the Winchester manual should be prefectly safe in your rifle. You may find that some bullet shapes and overall cartridge lengths feed better than others, but that is a matter of reliability and not safety.

They'll be safe, but you won't see the sort of velocity increases you would with a slower powder like W296, H110, Alliant 2400 or the like.

I've tried 5.5 gn of 231 in my .357CB and it worked well, with cast. I would recommend at least the 6gns you are using as it was quite a wimp load in my rifle.

win 231

The first load I tried in my new for me 1894C was 5.0 gr of W231
behind 125GR lead Laser Cast bullets in 38 spl cases.
MV was almost exactly 1200 fps and it grouped into 1.5" at 50 yds
I think this is a first class plinking load
