A local guy had one. I fondled it a bit, and that particular rifle looked pretty good.
But... He fired 6 shots and sold it back to the gun shop for a $300 loss. ...I don't know why. He wouldn't say. He does, however, own about a dozen other .444s (Winchesters, Marlins, TCs, H&Rs, and a Ruger #1); so I doubt it was the typical recoil issue.

It was a custom rebarrel. I haven't ever seen it, but the owner says he had it throated to seat bullets out as far as possible.
I don't know the origin... Tropical, International, etc.
