I removed the original front sight blade and installed the Williams sight.

What I've noticed is that the new sight blade seems to be twisted ever-so-slightly. When sighting thru the peep sight I can see a sliver of the right side of the front sight blade.

Everything tapped out easily and went back together easily too. I used a small brass hammer and drift for both operations. I did notice that the previous owner had 'staked' the original sight in-place.

The question is what would be the best way to get the new sight straight? Tap it until it is correct? That doesn't seem workable since the dovetail is pretty stout.

Ideas?

It is possiable that when the previous owner staked the original sight, he somehow misshaped the dovetail slot.
