I have a 1947 the last year of the 36 and a 336 stock will fit mine. Not the best but it would. It would need some fitting to make it look real well.

Mine when I bought it had a chopped off stock, but I replaced it with a Crescent buttplate stock for a Cowboy from here. Marlin

They are semi finished and require final tang fitting. Your model 36 is listed. I do like the Crescent on mine just makes that old square bolt look right.

As bought.
The way it is now.

Wet with a coat of BLO to show wood grain. I cut the fore end to a slim one.

There was a model that had the old style flat spring and a long tang that was changed to the coil spring and a short tang like the 336 still has. It was either the Model 1936 or Model 36. I did a post about the changes not too long ago but I'll be darned if I can find it.

Oops, I found it. It was in a private message about blued receivers on a Model 1936. It was this model that the change over was made. So therefore a stock from a 336 should be a close fit on a Model 36.
