Hi guy's and happy 4th..
Im a tad confused about sight heights meaning front , i bought a Marbels tang sight for my M 94 ( old rifle ) and i have a Marbels bead fron sight on at the moment ( i have the original front still ) anyway i have maxed out the elevation on the tang and i can hit the center of the taget holding on center but i want a 6 o,cloch hold so i either need to get the taller / higher tang post from Marbels or get a shorter front.
My question is , lets say Marbels give a height of , say , .375 is that from the bottom of the dovetail meaning the whole thing or is it measured when fitted from the top of barrel up ?.
Sorry if i confused ya'll but i need a shorter than i have front but i;m not too fussy how much shorter cos i can adjust elevation from tang sight down , as needed.

You are welcome.
The right way is measure the whole sight from the bottom of the dovetail to the top.
There are several sight height calculators on the web if you google it.
