I don't know what to get for the wife. I have been married 30 years. We do ok and generally things are good. Our two boys are gone from home and we have 2 wonderfull granddaughters. Now here is my dillema. My wife has no hobbies that I can spend money on getting her things. She is relatively frugal. I used to buy her nice jewelry but she asked me to stop as she has more than she can wear (in any given year), She told me when I started collecting Marlins that she didn't care how many I bought, and as long as the bills got paid she was glad I had a hobby. (I know this is true as I have around 40 now and she did not complain when I bought my second safe.) I need to think of something I can do for her so she doesn't start feeling it is one sided. She doesn't fly and I am self employed so long trips are not possible.
I am serious about trying to find something appropriate to make her know how special she is and that this isn't a one way street. We have an anniversary in May - Any help please.

Dear SURE-SHOT,

Jayco is right...this can be a real problem. Since I don't know
your wife, I'll do the best I can on this one! :?

It sounds like your wife is one that you don't have to spend a
fortune on to make her happy. In my opinion, most women
need to feel loved and secure in their relationships or all the
material things won't make any difference! Of course, if she
tells you about something she really wants, go for it! There
are lots of little things you can do that should make her feel
special and cost little or nothing. These are things you can do
for several days around your anniversary, plus at times through
out the year. For instance, you can leave little notes taped to
her bathroom mirror telling her how you feel about her or get
romantic and tell her what you'd like to do to her, if appropiate.
Leave a single rose (and maybe a Hershey's kiss) on her bed
pillow at night. On the morning of your anniversary, you could
serve her breakfast in bed maybe. (you get the idea, right??).
And don't forget the greeting card!!

Hope this helps......ANNABELLE

Thank you Anna the note thing is probably something she would find romantic. All the ideas are good except breakfast in bed, she is up at first light.
