After my scope ring breaking I'm going to remount with new steel bases and rings. What steel bases fit the XS7? I want to make sure i get the right base when I order it.i know they take the Win 70 bases, but i see different bases listed on MidwayUsa for different serial number ranges.

You want to get bases for pre-2008 Winchesters. 2008-forward Winchester use 8-40 screws while Marlins and older Winchesters use 6-48(?) screws.

If you're getting bases and rings, do what I did. Go with Leupold.

Just ordered leupold dual dovetail 2 pc matte bases and matte medium dual dovetail rings for Win 70 from optics planet ,I should be all set now.Have the same setup on my Rem 700 CDL in 35 Whelen and it hasn't had any problems so it should be good to go on my 7mm-08.

I took the steel rings from mine and put on some Junk Weaver Quad locks ;D I have four sets of them, if you never hear me go into a Quad lock rant you'll know they are trustworthy, put 50-60 rounds through the .308w since going to them, no trouble yet, we'll see. Put a set on a .22 Mag and a .22 Hornet, might add the other to a .30-06 with : C thrus on it : Forgive me Joe Biden. ;D .DT
