Hi All,

I have a new to me 1895ss (1996) that will load in the tube, feed, chamber and shoot Lee 405 HB @ 2.57" and my 40/45 cal 279g sabots at 2.59". Actually I haven't found the max. length for either bullet yet. I have a lot of 45-70 loading and shooting experience with H&R Handirifles and I am used to loading short for the non-existent throats or renting a throating reamer. I also have my friends 2004 1895 to do a little load work up and it will also chamber the Lee 405 @ 2.57". What have you fellows found to be the maximum OALs for the Rem 405 SP and the 300g FNs bullets?

Thanks

BB
