Sent my trapper off to get threaded. The smith buggered up my receiver... I plan on sanding then blasting out the marks. Anyone know the media size I should use to match the factory finish? Called Marlin, they were no help, (proprietary information apparently) WWG was no help either.

Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

Didn't you notice the blue and white stripes on his work apron:ahhhhh:

I doubt that he'll be doing any more "smithing" for you, but I hope he's going to see you right with fixing the damage.

Not familiar with that model but they used to use a brushed finish. I have read this was done with a large brass bristle brush but I have had good results replicating this with scotchbrite pads.
