I posted this earlier and ya'll were gracious enough to answer, but my replies have been deleted from my earlier post for some reason. Would you be kind enough to answer again.



The top of the Marlin barrel:
32-w
Marlin Fire-Arms CO New Haven CT USA
Patented Oct. 11, 1887. April 2, 1889

Underneath by the lever are the numbers 88423

Can anyone tell me what I have.

A 32/20 model 1889 perhaps? Whats the lever look like where it engages the locking bolt? The 1894's are the same as modern Marlins, the 89's are different. Looking at the bolt from behind you can tell as well. The 89 firing pin has a leg that sticks down even with the lump in the bolt bottom that ***** the hammer.
I cant tell by the pat dates or seriel number but someone here can I'm sure. :wink:
