Hi Ya'll,
My dad passed away and in cleaning out his closet I came across a gun that is Marlin

The top of the Marlin barrel:
Marlin Fire-Arms CO New Haven CT USA
Patented Oct. 11, 1887. April 2, 1889

Underneath by the lever are the numbers 88423

Can anyone tell me what I have.

Thank you,
Cody

It should say the calibre on it I think. If its a centerfire lever action maybe a 1889 would be my guess.

Welcome to the forum, theres a couple real knowledgable guys here who will know better.

I will also go with a Model 1889. The serial number puts it being made in 1893 & a few over 7100 1889s were made in that year. The caliber will be stamped on the top barrel flat just ahead of the receiver. SW
