Did that bedding job shown on your mini14 pic help with the accuracy any?

I never shot the rifle as a Mini14 and after the bbl install it’s been all about getting it to run. The bedding is actually a total rebuild of a garand stock recvr area to fit a Ruger mini 14, from a 9 inch recvr to a 6 inch recvr. The Ruger gas system has been modified to a garand gas system. Accuracy Systems did the bbl swap while a local smith cut the bbl for the gas cylinder. Once I get it to operate consistently I’ll play with the accuracy. The last thing I’ll do is paint the stock in a WW2 camo pattern.

I am reluctant to spend down my current stock of supplies.
Considering the current political climate, censorship, banning and suppression... I have little hope of ammo supplies becoming plentiful in the foreseeable future.

Our cowboy action group is now allowing 22LR for those not wanting to spend down their stocks of center fire ammo.

I've been trying to get all of the components I have on hand assembled into loaded ammo. Mostly .308 win., .223, and 6.5 creedmoor. Still have a ways to go on those, and next up will be .357 mag and 9mm. 45acp after that, and still trying to find a suitable mold for .40 cal to get that stash up to par.

even though I load for only 6 calibers and the last year or so I'm down to shooting only 20-25 rounds per trip. But often that's 2 trips a week - year around. So, I re-load something once or twice a week. So, the term "lately" is hard to diagnose in this context

I don't shoot or re-load in volume .... but by most folks standards, I do it often

30-30 170 Flat nose IMR4350 (won’t do that again)
30-30 FTX160s with 34 and 35 grains of leverevolution. Going to stick with 35 grains in those, was stacking rounds at 100 yards in a 1.5 inch circle with my new peep sight.

You picked the right weekend to ask. 45/70, 45 Colt and 30/30. Trying to make my loading stock into ammo stock. This next week I have 35 Remington to fill. Right now I would rather have ammo on hand than reloading components on hand.

After this comes the 300 WM, 30/06, 308 and 243. Ugh!

Looks like you have a few barrels that fit on a T/C and Rem XP action. I opted for the 280 AI for the 7mm bolt action.

I understand, the .375-.380 sweet spot for big bore, My most accurate combo is a 325 gr 40-1 cast bullet in a Win 1885 38-55 with BP. You only need a rear sight with the elevation adjustment and range.

I'm gearing up to reload some 22-250, just bought a 15" barrel for my Encore. Ordered up 1000 bullets, 400 pcs of brass and a set of Redding reloading dies. I have been buying reloading components like a man possessed. Better investment than Gold
