new member here! been using marlins for years and love em! i came across one that i cant find anywhere though. thought maybe someone out there might have seen one like it or might know something about it. it is a 1964 39a golden mountie with a 4 number serial number. what is odd about this gun is, on the buttstock it has a 150 years illinois medalion on one side, and a state seal medalion on the other. it looks to be factory done. i have seen the winchester that has the medalion and it looks just like the winchester. i am thinking that maybe it was a raffle gun or something like that but i am a loss and can find nothing about it.. anyone ever hear of this?

Welcome. Sorry I can't help on the 39. I've looked at one 336 but don't remember what state it had on it. Neighbor won it then sold it.
