It was very windy here in VA. I hope to test them both again. The Xtp looks like hunting potential for sure.

I tested 19.3 grains of H4227

Yesterday, I tested 19.3 grains of H4227 with the bullet seated at the second canneler.
Very good groups! One 4 shot group at .65 ", and two other shots at .5" .
The overall group 6 shots = 1.68" at 50 yards. This round is showing some promise.
I'm not sure about increasing the charge anymore because the Hornaday data states that the max FPS for the 180 XPT is 1,750, and based on Hornaday load data, 19.3 gives 1450 from a 14" Contender, so I'm sure I'm pushing it around 1600 with the 22 inch barrel NEF.
