my lansky knife sharpening set has what they call a fine/600
stone in it, could i run my trigger across this instead of an
india stone ? , as per swany's instructions.
it feels smoother than 600 grit paper.

thanks in advance for all in-put.

I did exactly that on my 10-22. You are limited by the square edge - some parts you can't get the right angle on, and changing the contours can result in a dangerously light or unstable trigger. But, for smoothing the sides and the areas where the sharpener fit the pre-existing shape, it worked pretty well. If you have some burrs or rough spots, you might start with a courser grit.
