Bring on the cool fall weather..!!..this hot sticky weather has wore out it's welcome with this old man.....and the zillions of seed ticks are the final straw! Weather man says hot the next seven days.. glad I've got air conditioning ...I do my outside stuff early...of course the dew is on heavy early, so stomping across the fields your pants legs get wet to your waist.....
Hummm.....Looks like, on the positive side ..that I'm pretty good at finding things to complain about ....
I suppose I should back up and be happy I got it so easy ....living a quiet life back in the brush is a pretty good deal...........so....never mind......

Although I love Fall, we here in Central NYS at 1700’ don’t get enough hot, humid weather to get sick of it but the bugs and ticks are another story.

down here in SE Texas, we get plenty of hot, sticky weather. I'm usually sick of it by about 15 May.

Absolutely hate ticks more than any creature on this earth. Good for nothing, blood sucking, disease spreading, filth. I don’t know why the Good Lord made them, but I’m sure He had His reasons and He knows better than me.

I’m sick of the 97 degree humid Mississippi heat too. I think it’s getting to me.

headed to a Lyme specialist this AM. Had a case of Anaplasmosis this summer. getting better labs to be sure no lyme or bartonella or babesia. all tick born infections. bad stuff. The fall temps actually will allow population increase of ticks. Spring and fall is the worst here for ticks. The winters just are not cold enough anymore. Make working in the woods less enjoyable.

The ticks are bad here in MD too. I have been taking measures to try and reduce that issue around my house. I sprayed a large part of my yard because we were getting quite a few wood/dog ticks. In the last few weeks, nothing, so it must of helped. I have also bought a 6 packs of permethrin to spray clothes. Hunting season starts this Friday in MD and I will be spraying all my clothes. This fall I also plan to buy a bag of cotton balls and spray them down with permethrin. I will then place them in places I think mice and other critters will get them and use them for nesting in their dens. I am hoping that this will kill one of the other vectors that increases tick population in my location. We'll see.
To those getting ready for hunting season, spray your clothes. Permethrin works.
