hi guys,

Trying to replace the stud screw that fell out of my marlin. i ordered the one below. Is there something i am missing other than just screwing it in? any tips or tricks would be appreciated i fought with it for 20 mins the other night with no luck.

That should be it. It just threads into a stud on the other side that rides in the dovetail. I've had the magazine tube become unseated with that screw out and I had to "wiggle" it back in to line everything up.

There are a couple of different plug screws depending on tube size and if they just hold the plug in the tube or if it passes through and into a hanger. You may have one too short for your needs.

i tried wiggiling every which way to try and line it up. i wonder if it is too short because i couldnt get it to catch any threads. is it possible midway sent me the wrong one? i also wondered if there would be further dissasembly of the mag tube required to get it right.

As mentioned there are several different ones depending on your rifle and when it was made. They sent you the wrong one---it is straight forward replacement if you have the correct one. Put some blue loctite on it so it won't come loose again.
