One time, years ago, I was fishing a small tributary creek in the Smokey Mountains. It was a small creek, maybe 12 feet wide, but full of trout. I had just sat down on the hard dirt bank to relax.

I saw something a few yards away that caught my eye. It was a group of about 8 or 10 Monarch butterflies. They were flittering in a group and finally all landed on the earth bank and formed a perfectly geometrical circle, all facing each other and moving their wings up and down in unison. It was incredible. No kaleidoscope could have surpassed it.

Hmmm . . . perhaps they were trained.

Do Monarch butterflies play Pokeno? Sounds like my wife and her girlfriends on card night; except they sit in a perfect circle and flap gums not wings. :flute: Seriously though, neat story! I would love to have seen that.
