We "Members of Team 1894" challenge the other site recognized teams (45/70, 30-30, 35, 444, and whoever else that can muster up the courage) to the Big Medicine's & Sidespin's Postal Match II. In so doing we the members of Team 1894 will only use our 1894's for this challenge.

That being said, we'll be shooting at 25, 50, 100, 200 & 300 yards. We can shoot from a bench using a front and rear rest per match rules.

Targets are attached in either format (Word or PDF), pick the format that you can open. Note when you print the target on the scaling click on none.

When you fill in the data on the target make sure to indicate what Team you are representing!

Team 1894 participants should place their targets in an envelope and mail them to me:

[send me a PM for my address]

The match is open from now until 31 Aug 2011. All targets must be post marked by Sept 1st to Big Medicine.

UPDATE - Team 1894 Challenge to all other MarlinOwners Sanctioned Teams..

Update to the Team 1894 2011 Postal Challenge!

After discussion with team captains, Big Medicine & Sidespin we have collectively agreed to the following for team scoring.

Each team captain or co-captain will paste their individual thread with the address you are to mail your targets to. After receipt of all targets, each team captain will score them and take the best ten scores and add them together and divide by ten. That will represent your teams score and that will be submitted to Big Medicine & Sidespin for overall Team scoring.

I've suggested that each team captain also post on the team threads who had the top ten scores for each match distance on your team.

Hope this clears up any questions and good luck. Now download those targets and have some fun!

The 25 yard targets are for 22LR open sights. So Centerfire rifle open sights are 50 yards, Scoped at 100 yards.

Sounds interesting. Where do I sign up for team 1894? I don't think I can even SEE that target at 300 yds! Might have to use a little extra elevation for my cast cowboy loads.
Should be a place in the 1894 forum :)

I assume a red dot sight w/no magnification counts as a scope?

Awww man. :-\
I joined a team just to enter the contest, then I find out there is a special target that I can't create.

I don't have a working printer, and I can't save the files to a specific folder anyway, so can I just make a circle the proper size on a piece of paper then shoot it? As long as the circle is in the center I don't see how I could cheat.

If so, how big is that black circle?

You can go to a public library and use the computer to print a target then go to a copy place and copy a bunch of targets

Also you do not need to be a team member to shoot in the match. You can shoot any levergun with a magazine. The team challenge is a challenge between the teams to generate more interest in the match.

Finally had a chance to shoot a couple of targets 2 days before the match is history.
It was a lot of fun!
