In the fire arms section they refer to:
Located behind the trigger
Prevents the firearm from being fired before the action is completely closed and locked
Blocks the trigger only
Refer to Hammer at Half Cock



Question. I'm under the impression that Marlin invented the half cock hammer safety... and, does any other manufacturer employ the same feature?

well, it's a cross bolt safety in a conical well in the reciever just below the hammer.... just never seen one.

Hey what about the half cock safety... non exclusive to Marlins?

The half cock was on all the levers that I know off.. I don't think its exclusive to Marlin or was there idea.. The Cross Bolt Saftey is theirs, as the others use a tang saftey now. Thanks to lawyers guns had to be changed so stupid people wouldn't shoot themselves.. but alas it too has failled cause stupid will prevail every time :lol:
