What exactly is this? I have not owned any newer marlins with this feature. Is it a good crisp trigger? I also noticed on the website that the newer hardwood bolt guns, dont have pressed checkering anymore. About time!

The T-900 "fire control system" is different in design than the older Marlin trigger, the only real improvement is the safety is much better. It's different to work on than the older pre-2004 trigger, but not any better. Personnally, I put Rifle Basix triggers in both my Marlin 917s and am very happy with em.
