If not one then the 2 most Universal?

Reloading party at Trappers House!!!:flute:
Well I hear you
But I have worked at getting what I have.
As we all know you do not just walk into your LGS
So that is why I am asking what am I missing for a catch all if possible with what I shoot
Thank You

I have all the powders you have, but not in that quantity. I have always had my favorite go-to powders, but during this powder shortage I have experimented with powders I have never tried with certain calibers. It is surprising how many work very well. Like the Swiss watch makers once said, the quartz watch won't work!

I feel you are covered with the powders you listed if you were asking that?
15lbs of RL -7 From what I have read here some really like the RL-7. Never used it myself though.

These Two Powders are my Top Two Choices for what you have listed.
6 of H-110 Top end loads for .44 Magnum and 45 Colt. But be sure your colt can handle those loads.
9 of H-322 Top end loads for .444 Marlin and 45-70

If you were asking about 1 Universal powder then it would be Unique. But Unique is designed for Low to Mid range loads.

Reloader 7 is what I use in my 45-70. Unique is what I use in my 45-70 CB with 405 gr. lead bullets.

I use two powders across all of my straight wall cases from 38 special up to the 458 Winchester Mag. Pistols get HP-38 and Rifles all get H4198. There may be better powders for certain loads but those two powders work great in everything I own.

Edit: Forgot my straight walled 410. It eats H110 and enjoys it!

Holy black, works great in all straight walled cases and lasts 100s of years

I like to have 20lbs around all the time, just in case.

Tho I have lots of IMR4895, its just for all the 30 cals, but does work well in the big bores also
where the holy black wont work

For hunting IMR 3031, 4198 or 8208 are good. For target shooting get trail boss it will be easier on your shoulder. I have shot 50 rounds of 14 grains of trail boss with 300 grain hard cast lead. Shoulder did fine. While doing so snuck in a load of 8208 51.2 grains and blasted that. Everyone jumped and I think it raised the tin roof on the range awning. Lol . After that I asked if anyone wanted to try it and no takers!! Hahaha It did lay a good mule kick on the old shoulder.:vollkommenauf:

IMR 3031 is the one you are missing. It is great in the 45-70 and is the orignal powder used by Stoner in the AR for the 223. I shoot it also in my 308, 7mm-08 and my 243.
