So i just bought a guide gun and am eagerly awaiting to start laoding for this beast so i can actually recreationally shoot it:biggrin:

So i guy locally is willing to sell me this for $120. Is it a good deal?

All for 45-70

"in his words"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have
* (1) new unopened bag of 50 Winchester brass
* (1) new unopened bag of 100 Remington 405 grain jacketed bullets
* (1) new unopened 4lb box of Beartooth 525 grain pile drivers (about 50/box if I remember correctly)
* 8 pieces of fired win brass, 10 pieces of new win brass
* 128 pieces of primed (cci 250) win brass (most fired once) loaded with powder and 350, 405 grain bullets - to be sold as components only (they were safe in my gun but you would have to promise to disassemble them)
* opend box of speer 405 fp jacketed bullets with 18 left

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So what do you guys think?

Looks like deal to me. I have a 45/70 on the way and have been pricing components. Plus the guy is smart enough to tell you not to shoot his reloads.

I'd go for it, but I'd pull those reloads apart, poste haste!

Hey 85,

You got it yet? That is a good deal, even if you need to "pull" a few bullets.

Later, Mark

Hey guys thanks for the quick replies, i love this forum:tee:

Anyways meeting up with the guy on friday, looking forward to it!

I am a neophyte when it comes to reloading but am very humble and safety conscience. I was curious, i have some unique powder i'm pretty sure i can use for 45-70, but will varget work? I have some i bought with intentions on loading .308

I would do it if I didnt cast my own and have all the brass I need.... I just got the lyman bullet puller and have been having fun pulling all of my dummy rounds I have laying around.

Never used Varget but some do. The Unique is perfect for the cast slugs. Check out gmdr.com for 45-70 Unique loads.
