I recently acquired a Skinner barrel-mounted sight for a Ruger 77/44. Went on easily and with the factory front sight handled bullet weights of 225 to 300 grains. Excellent product.

Thats a great picture! Thanks for the email and for posting the photo here so folks can see what it looks like on different rifles. The groups you were getting are great! I like the aperture sitting just forward of the receiver. We have set up several rifles that way and its fast, accurate, and a great sight picture.

One of the questions I'm asked almost daily is: "Doesnt the aperture need to be up close to your eye to work?" The answer? Nope..... It works just fine out on the barrel.

Yesterday I was shooting a 10/22 with a barrel mount with the aperture removed for a "Ghost Ring" sight picture. (The exact one shown at: http://www.skinnersights.com/barrel_mount_6.html ) At 40 yards I was keeping a tin can bouncing without ever letting it come to a full stop. Sometimes not even letting it hit the ground again.

This is a fast and very accurate sight option. I believe it is SASS Legal also. (maybe not after they find out how quick and accurate it can be)

PJR... Cool Rifle also! Always wanted one in stainless! This would be a great rifle for those states that allow shotguns and handgun cartridges for deer hunting.

Speaking of which... I've adapted the SKINNER TACTICAL sight to the Remington 870....

I received a notice yesterday from Buds Gun Shop that the Ruger 77/357 was in stock. I was initially excited about another compact rifle platform for the .357 magnum.

My eyesight is not what it was and factory iron sights are not the best option. I know peep/receiver sights work for me. Adding a scope to this Ruger is counter to the goal of a compact rifle. I guess my benchmark of a compact .357mag rifle is gonna be hard to beat, (the Marlin 1894CSS, 357mag, with a Leupold 1.5-5x20 scope. ;D. )

The option of putting the Skinner sights on the barrel, not on the receiver, for compactness, is appealing.

I may have to consider the Ruger, right after I get another 1894CSS for the Skinner sight, and another 336SS (with a straight stock conversion) to put a scope on, and I really need a third 44mag Marlin with a 16"+/- barrel with a Skinner sight, and a ..... ;D

1040... Marlinitis is not a bad thing to have... and I hear there is no permanent cure... Just temporarily comforted by the acquisition of another beautiful Marlin. This past week a customer and I were talking and he had a 32-20 1894 Cowboy for sale. My Marlinitis flared up... a check was in the mail... and yesterday he notified me that its on the way...... Starting to feel better already!

Now to find one of those stainless steel Rugers......... :)
