The bear track is just an ink stamp i ordered. Cant get it to stay on there when im sweating carrying the rifle around in 100° heat hunting bears in august. Maybe i should see if my cheek rest will hold the stamp.
The 444 is death incarnate to bears. Got that rifle 3 years ago and so far ive killed 7 bears with it, at ranges from 10 - 50 yards. Didnt have to track a single one of them. All dropped in their tracks, or in sight, within 20 yards.

Would love to take a bear with my 444 here in Ontario. What load are you using on these bears?

The first 5 were the 265gr flat nose hornadys. The last 2 were the hornady leverevolution. I intend to start loading 280 a frames here in about a week or two, so ill be trying those out in august. Will also be loading the 200 hammers and 220 lehighs soon. My next bear hunt will be in idaho this spring but ill be bringing a 308 bolt gun incase i get into some wolves and could benefit from a little more flat shooting of a cartridge. So testing out the a frames on a bear has to wait for the washington opener august 1st.
