I got my new Marlin 717M2 semi-auto in 17HM2, and what a beaut it is! There was just enough time tonight to shoot a few hedge apples in my friends pasture. Seems to be accurate to hit a hedge apple at about 70 yards. I will get it on paper to get it sighted in and see how it shoots. It functions flawlessly! Tomray was right....it was worth the wait. I have a feeling this will be one of those rifles that goes with me every time I leave the house.

Those hedge apples are good for something aren't they Big Med. I'm glad you like that rifle. I sure think the hm2 is a good cartridge.

The scope went on it last night. Now all I need is time to get it zero'd in. After really looking this rifle over last night, I have come to the conclusion that Marlin did well this rifle. I think you guys NEED one!

It is no target trigger, but I figure with a few hundred rounds through it the trigger will smooth up. It really isnt bad at all.
