When I was a child I had a Marlin lever action (possibly model 39#) with a straight grip, gold trigger, saddle ring on the left side, round barrel, the lever is rounded (without the tab to the rear next to the stock), buck horn rear sight, front site hooded with a gold bead. I have been looking fore on for years. Looking for; specific model / nomenclature for potential purchase. STILL CRYING FOR LETTING IT GET AWAY FROM ME.

Jimbo welcome to the forum from Fl.
I'd like to see a 39 or 39A in that configuration. I don't remember seeing one with a saddle ring. Sure wouldn't say they didn't make one just never came across one. Could swap out a cross bolt safety for the saddle ring.
Good luck with your search.

Those saddle rings don't do much more than mess up your bluing nowadays anyway. If you ride a horse, get yourself a scabbard.

I did a little checking an it seems that Uncle Mikes sold an after market saddle ring that replaced the take down screw. That may be an option if you could find an old one that someone wants to part with.
