I have been thinking about converting a ruger bearcat to 22 magnum. Would you have to ream out the chamber only or would you have to rebore the barrel too?
I have heard of people doing it in the past and I can't afford a 'smith to do it for me. I know that Bowen classic and cylinder and slide will do it but I would like to do it on my own.

There have been a few Bearcats converted to shoot .22 Magnum. Been awhile since I looked that up but here is a good review of some customization done: Bowen Classic Arms Custom Ruger Bearcat with Sack Peterson Elk Stag Grips

I've seen another that was converted to .22 Magnum and had a set of S&W K-frame sights on it, the Bearcat being a stainless model…it looked GOOOOOD!!
