So I've had too much time on my hands lately (which never turns out well) and I decided that it's time to customize the Rossi .357. I'm looking to make it my primary home defense gun. I was wondering if anyone out there knows any way to to put some sort of accessory rail on the fore end of the rifle. I'd like to mount a flashlight on it for those bump in the night situations. Before anyone says it, I know it's better to just turn on the lights, but somehow I lucked into an apartment without overhead lighting, so I would have to turn on individual lamps. Thanks in advance for the help.

Lukas McCain never needed a rail on his 92.

I fail to see the fascination on letting everyone know where you are.

The muzzle flash is all you need.

If you do not know what is down range, you should not shoot

Pard,

Lukas McCain doesn't live with me

I don't know about letting everyone know where I am, but as I said, it will primarily be a home defense gun, so they probably already know where I am (in my home)

Muzzle flash only comes after I've fired a blind shot into the dark...bad time to get my first look at what I'm shooting at

The light is to make sure that I know what is down range so I can safely shoot

I'd screw something like this to the right (loading gate) side of my forend and find a mini flash light with a pressure switch to mount on the forend where my fingers can reach it.

I'd probably cut it down to a couple inches in length.

As a side note. You should have a small hand held flashlight to actually see what's making the noise so as not to be pointing your carbine at your kid as they try to sneak back into the house at 4am. Hand held to investigate, gun mounted to illuminate threat.

Mario--I appreciate the push in the right direction. I was so dead set on something inline with the barrel that I never even considered something on the side of the receiver. FWI I'm seriously considering one of these KZ Rail Grabber Offset Flashlight Mounts.

Cowboy66--Thanks. I've never understood the point of belittling someone who asks an honest question; especially with long irrelevant TV series references.
