Considering they made the Remingron Rolling Block in 7 MM Mauser and a host of other military calibers, it's safe for 444. I wouldn't load it to +P pressures, but normal 444 loads will be fine.

I have a Rolling Block 45-70 that I shoot only trapdoor loads or black powder in. I don't think that I would want my face behind a roller in 444.

I believe the newly manufactured (Pedersoli) rolling block rifles use different (stronger) steel than the original (Remington) black powder models.

I like the idea. The cartridge over all length in a single shot wouldn't be a limited as it is in a Marlin levergun.

If anyone is interested, there's a Pedersoli 444 Marlin on gunbroker that closes in 5 hours (3/8/23 02:26).

I have no involvement with the sale, just posting in case someone is looking for a unique rifle in a great caliber.
You wouldn't happen to have the item #?
Curious as to what it went for.

Starting bid: $1300
Buy it now: $1495
Not much different than what they want for some of the real Marlins at that site (too much).

The CVA and H&R break actions are a lot cheaper if you want a single shot that may take longer cartridges.
This rifle certainly has the elan of being different.
