Madness I say!

Well I had recently picked up the SP101 in .22LR that was on lay-a-way...darn near NIB! Then, earlier this week, I accidentally bought a NEW Marlin 795.

So a couple of students called and wanted some refresher at the indoor range, so we met this morning and, somehow, I didn't forget to bring the two additions!

I must say, 3/4s of a box of Remington Golden .22s doesn't last very long with those two guns around! The Marlin 795 had two FTEs, probably more ammo related. It was plenty accurate on the swinging target (bouncing from the zipline that runs the target back and forth) even out to 25 yards.

Having printed off a couple of targets from the site posted on MO, we blasted at a couple of dartboard patterned targets (missing the number 17 I may add). That little Ruger is perhaps evidence of the worst marketing decision they ever made, as it was so accurate and reliable Ruger should be able to sell them by the truckload! Not sure what the problem with them was before. Side by side with the Taurus 94, the 94 would be ritired permanently to the "This is the type of gun not to buy," catagory.

With the SP101, it was easy enough to go around the dartboard...1,2,3,4...etc., at 10 yards. Real joy to shoot!

Had both of my students take a stab at the Marlin.

Seems like they will be owning one in the near future!

I'm lost. I thought a Ruger SP101 was a .357 revolver. Is that what you are shooting?

Miller, the SP101 is presently made in .357 Magnum and .327 Federal Magnum. In the past it was made in .38 Special, .32 H&R Magnum, and .22 Long Rifle.

The one I was shooting is in .22LR...and it is LOTS of fun!

And, Catherine, I stumbled into this 4"bbl model, NIB...not even a turn mark on the cylinder!

No photographic evidence will be provided until the wife gets double the funds back!

I think that I remember you saying that on another thread. Cool - very cool!

Take care.
