The Rem 170 HP Cor Lokt, has been my go to .30 cal woods deer bullet for a very long time. It gets sped up to about 2300/2400 out of a 300 Sav or 308, and is very effective. There is a 336SC here that will see use this year with it at 30-30 speeds. Just know the bullet flat works, but have never found reference for what it is supposed to be designed for. Compared to a Rem 170gr RNSP, is supposed to be more or less of a penetrator , expander etc.? I'm hoping a long standing member with good memory, can recall an old Remington catalog reference to this bullet ?

Okay, just found an old post on this, says they are a more controlled expansion bullet compared to the Rem 170 RNSP.
