I have a Leupold 1-piece mount on my .308, which is okay except I worry about the windage screws on either side of the rear of the mount.
I would prefer to "lock" these in with a dab of Locktite "Blue" once I have the scope sighted in rather than run the risk of having either one work lose and spoil a hnut, etc.
Anyone have the same mount that can respond???
Thanks

cheaper than dirt has this setup for 44.00. A set of leupold rings and a base will cost just as much.I have the medium mount on mine and its a real secure set up with no shimming gives you a little peace of mind if you dont like the windage screws.

i really like that one piece /ring combo , fewer screws to tighten or get loose on you ;D

I have a 1 Leupold 1pc mount on a 30-06 that's been there for years without ever coming loose, it has been on numerous hunts and never a problem. I also have a couple of rifles with Redfield JR mounts which are the same mount as the Leupold and never a problem. I like the Leupold system because you can get various height and diameter rings if you ever decide to change your scope.

Well.....after all the great feedback, I'm tempted to just keep the Leupold 1-piece mount on...windage screws and all. These screws just seemed to be a potential weak point, but according to you guys who have the same mount there hasn't been any drift associated with the screws loosening up.
I still think that once I have the scope zeroed in pretty well, I will put a dab of Locktite Blue on both screws and then uses the scope for final windage adjustments.
The thing I like about the "Blue" locktite is that it keeps things bound tight, but you can pop the bond later with a little extra oomph.
Thanks again everyone.

The blue locktite certainly won't hurt anything. I use blue locktite on all my mount screws, just for extra insurance. These scope mounts have been around for over 60 years and they have always been one of the highest rated mounts. I think you will be happy with it.
