Not really a do it yourself gunsmith question but perhaps some of you savy gunsmiths here will have a good idea . I'm wondering what is an expected price range to get a gunsmith to do a quality reblueing job today? I'm thinking about having a 39m marlin reblued .....it's not a collector grade gun. Some previous own chopped the stock shorter...yet it could yet be a good hunting gun and look halfway decent with some tender loving care. Thanks

In my area, depends on who does it and the process used. For a full, 100 percent all parts re-do. its anywhere from $200-$350.
That's with a traditional hot salt bluing.

The price of standard re-bluing $150-$250. Price goes up for the deluxe finish ( more prep work ). Also depends on the shape of the metal, pitting, rust, gouges, etc... About the same for Cerkote. Been impressed with cerakote, held off a few years to see if it was a fad that would eventually to go away. From what I gather and my own expirences it seems to be a legitimate gun coating and gaining popularity. Also
