Does anyone know what year Marlin started and dropped the 336RC designation?

The only reference to the RC that I can find, unless I looked over it, is on page 257 of the Marlin Firearms book by Brophy. It does not say when they started or when they stopped.

It dosen't say much other then it stands for "Regular Carbine"

Also did a 336RC made in 1968 have a front sight hood?

Thanks in advance.

I have a 1967 RC, and it does have the hood.

Can't answer your question because I don't have my book with me!

336RC

I have a '66 vintage 336RC (S/N AB46677) 30-30 that apparently had a hood on the ramp. It was gone when I bought the rifle. Mine has a straight
grip stock, and has a 10-32 hole in the receiver, most likely for a sling ring. (See also my post re the dead old lady0s 336RC.) RC, SC, A, ADL...
Who can keep track?
