Question on 1894 "carrier assembly"

I have and 1894 marlin chambered in 44-40. my question is if the carrier that fits a 45colt model/ 44mag model would be the same as mine?

Found them on Brownells, but the 44-40 isn't listed, so I just wanted to check. Thanks for any info.

Re: Question on 1894 "carrier assembly"

The only 1894 carriers around here I have to compare with is an older 357 one. The last Marlins in 44-40 were built in 2000 and mine is part of that run. I do know that my bolt is engraved 44-40 on a inner surface, but the 44-40 has a larger rim diameter than either the 45 Colt or 44 Mag.

But Tomray might know if there's a difference between carriers.

Try to go to the Marlin website and download an operators manual for each gun. The manuals generally have parts breakdowns, you should be able to compare part numbers between the two.
If you can't do that, try going to the Numrich website.

The carriers for the 45 Colt, 44 Mag and 44-40 are the all the same part..........P/N 514461........Although, slight bending (maybe .015) to correct timing may be required.........in most cases, they should drop right in.........
