Does anyone know the minimum dia the flat of a flat tip bullet needs to be to be safe in a 338ME? I would assume it would be best to catch the case edge around the outside of the primer but with larg rifle primers that's pretty big. I haven't fooled with anything other than pistol ammo levers before buying the 338ME. Got my dies on the way and I might do some casting for the 338 and make some of my own gas check molds for it.

I beleive the primer is an 8 1/2. Think of this, as long as the tip isn't pointed. Remington has the 250 RN the tip is not pointed but the tip still makes contact with the primer in front. The lead is soft it will give...some...
