I am looking to load some 405 grain commercial cast bullets. I have just over a pound of Re7 and almost two pounds of IMR4064 so I would like to use either one of these.
I would like to hear you experiences with both. Same for Speer 400 JFP, although I am 90% sure I will stay with Re7 for these.

The manuals show how much to use, but as I listed, I was looking for actual experience from Marlin shooters. Trying to cut down on load testing.

I loaded some up. 40-42 grains in .5 grain increments.
Fortunately the XLR pad is pretty good at soaking up recoil, but I have shot a bunch of 405 JFP with 48 grains of Re7.

I never had luck with Rl7 with cast but i think i had to much of a charge and plain base bullets(I know more now) Hod great luck with it and 400g jacketed bullet in the 46gr range.
My go to cast powder is 3031.

4064 might be a bit slow. I have used 4198 and 3031, those are my go to powders for the 45-70. Never used Re-7 but some seem to like it.
