Just got off the phone with my youngest son. He has been in North Carolina going through testing to see if he could get into Special Forces training. He had called Sunday after an 18 mile jaunt with 60lb pack and let us know he finished the physical part and was going through psychological tests this week. He just let us know he was selected and will start with the next class in Apr/May. Enlisted for five, did fifteen months in Iraq, made Sgt., oh and when he gets done with leave, home for Christmas, he will be going through jump school in Germany before going back to NC for fourteen months of SF training. Wow.

God bless him, he's in for the trial of his life, but I'm sure he'll handle it in stride...Jake.

I'm not surprised.....I've met the young man's father and he's a pretty standup fella, too.

Like Tubby mentioned The father is quite the fella also.

I don't know how much military experiences you all have...
but SF are a whole different breed of soldier.

Ship over 2,000 reg infantry soldiers to the enemy to fight,
and they are concerned about the battle.

Ship 10 SF soldiers, with their gear..........and the enemy is more interested
in a "negotiated settlement".

Congrats to your son Sure-Shot, to you both, that is one helluva
feat to accomplish. If he doesn't ever do anything else in life......
he's met the challenge. If I knew what he looked like, and seen
him at a restaurant, I would pick up the tab for his meal...W/O doubt.
