Hi,

Sometime around 1983 to 84 I bought a brand new Marlin model 70 22 lr semi auto rifle. I have 2 seven round factory mags. I want to get at least a 10 round mag or better. I see POST 1988 10 round mags available. I assume these wont fit my rifle? Does anyone know if any are made for PRE 1988 model 70s? Where I can get some? Or can the POST 1988 mags be modified to fit? Thank you. I hope Im on the right forum heading now??Im brand new here.

Try e-bay put in this number in the search box. 026495071356 I was in the sportsman warehouse the other day and they had the ten rounders for $15

They will say 1988 and up bolt action and 1988 and below self loaders.

Rule of thumb, you can use the Marlin 795 magazine in most pre 88 semi autos but not vice versa unless you grind off the nub in the magwell of the 795. Also the 795 magazine works in bolt actions as well.
