17 dead now. Bad situation all around.
The weather was set to go NE of the lake so they went out.
An then the storm turned dead on track at the lake.
The bigger problem is why these folks were not wearing life jackets.

Not to say I know for sure because I wasn't there, but from the pictures and videos I saw it was an enclosed cabin on that DWK, and I don't know if they were wearing life jackets or not. But I will say this if they were all wearing a life jackets, and they were in a rapidly filling or fully submerged cabin and trying to find your way out of one or two exits, is not a recipe for survival. It's one of those few times when actually wearing a life jacket is a hindrance to life rather than a help.
Looks like you are correct. It had like a hard bimini type top with plastic roll up windows.
Maybe seat belts? Never been in one seen a few.
Old and young mainly looks like.
Sad all around USCG inspects anually down there maybe they will reveal more records.
