So, here's one that came from a DU banquet. It reminded me of my dad's Buck 110. I stuffed it in the truck glove box and it has handled "roadside deer cleaning" on occasion. ALSO, handled the occassional electrical project (notice the white box where I must have grounded something.)
I did have to use a Chef's Choice electric sharpener on this one to clean up the electrical accident. There were two holes burned into the blade, only in the white box is visible now. I was able to grind out the one on the front of the blade.

I have seen ONE other of this version at a yard sale. I passed and then a few hours later went back to buy it.. AND.. it was gone. Someone got a good deal.

I remember working on a job with two brothers who were the electricians, they reminded me of Heckel and Jeckel (young guys don't ask). they would take a pair of pliers and touch them to the wires to trip the breaker!

That's kind of how it worked out... I finished the outlet and fixed the knife after the project.

Just ordered the Esee Izula 2 in a black oxide finish and a set of g10 grips for the Laser Strike.
Anybody have a black oxide finish knife to share a pic of?

A couple more I picked up in the last couple weeks so. The bottom is a Flissa, which is a very inexpensive imported brand that I'd bought a couple of previously. The top knife, a Joker, is much nicer all-around, but not really a quality piece. I'd sure not want to be on the receiving end of either one. Both arrived pretty sharp and then got a bit sharper. Similar sizes @ just under a foot long for both with 6.5" blades of SS. Both sheaths are just passable, but work.

My turkey gun is a nef I bought around age 13 with yard mowing money. Killed my first buck, gobbler, squirrels and several other critters with it. A good sounding box call made locally and a Case Trapperlock in
dads knife got to clean another turkey yesterday, it’s more knife than you need for a bird but it just seemed like the right thing to do.

Congratulations! I am sentimental about things like that too! Great pic and items. A Lynch box call bagged my first few birds back in the 90’s as a dumb kid that barely knew what he was doin 😂

My 2nd Kommer designed Catchall arrived today (y) I got even luckier with this one than with #1. After getting interested after reading so many great reviews, I found the lowest price by far at Am u son for #1. It was $36 while other places had it listed for $50 to over $90. They immediately raised the price the day #1 arrived to $60. I kept checking and holy cow, 2 weeks ago they had it dropped to $32 so I snagged #2. Today, it's $63 there, very strange....

G10 came in from the knife connection, their g10 feels great in the hand. I must have g10 that feels 3 different ways with my preference the Spyderco pm2’s sharp cut, then this I got today as a close 2nd. I’d describe it as grippy micarta feeling plastic. I am pleased! The handles are scooped out on the inside for tinder, ferro rod and it’ll hold 2 Esee broadheads, @Kendawg can appreciate that lol. Black with red liners as @TnHunter356 suggested! Now to figure out whose sheath I’m gonna have made for it.

I guess that I was bored at one point in the last week and ended up bidding on a few inexpensive knives. Here's two of them, both by Stone River. I did a little research on Stone River knives and found that fixed blade knives similar to this one sell for $25-$40 and the ceramic folder normally sells for $30-$45. I got both for under $25. I've wondered about ceramic blade knives for while, so what the heck. The fixed blade showed up less than sharp , but slices paper now. I'm a big fan of big whitetail bucks so there was interest in the silly handle.

A new arrival yesterday afternoon. I found an auction with a knife described as made as a gift for the seller many years ago by someone he'd done some work for. The amateur(?) knife smith was from Ashland, Wi and his initials, W.K. can be seen along with '82 on the left ricasso. Knife steel was unknown by the seller, But due to it's age and likely not being kept waxed it's more than likely SS. I'd venture, after giving it a very quick sharpening that's it's likely 420 or similar. OAL is 9" with a 4.5" blade that very quickly took a very keen edge. I was likely enamored as much but the custom sheath also made by W.K for the knife as it's of excellent quality and fits quite well. The scales are of fairly thick slabs of micarta and they are fitted very well to the full tang blade with what looks like 7 brass pins. The knife has a hefty, well fitted brass (nickel silver?) pommel. Some nicely done file work as jimping. All in all, I feel it an excellent buy at under $25.
